CAPSANEM
Entomopathogenic nematodes
Steinernema carpocapsae
Use Capsanem to:
Larvae of the families of Noctuidae, Pyralidae, Tipulidae (tipulids), the pine weevil (Hylobius abietis) and Capnodis tenebrionis. Larvae of several other Coleoptera (beetles) and Orthopthera (eg grillotopo).
Presentation:
Capsanem Standard: Box with 2 envelopes
Each envelope contains 25 million nematodes
Capsanem Grande: Box with 2 envelopes
Each envelope contains 250 million nematodes
Extra Large Capsanem: Box with 6 envelopes
Each envelope contains 250 million nematodes
The boxes contain nematodes (third stage) in gel

When should Capsanem be used?
Use Capsanem for the biological control of larvae of the families Noctuidae, Pyralidae, Tipulidae (typhulids), the pine weevil (Hylobius abietis) and Capnodis tenebrionis. Also larvae of several other Coleoptera (beetles) and Orthopthera (eg grillotopo).
How does Capsanem work?
After its application, the nematodes actively seek their prey and penetrate it. The nematodes feed on the content of their prey, segregating specific bacteria from their digestive tract. These bacteria transform the tissues of your host into products that the nematodes easily assimilate. The larvae die in a few days.
Capsanem application
Preparation of the solution
Half an hour before preparing the product, take the container out of the refrigerator to bring it to room temperature (20 ° C)
Break the contents of the envelope (250 million Steinernema carpocapsae) into smaller pieces. Use all the contents and place the smaller pieces in a bucket with five liters of water (between 15 and 20 ° C)
Let the cube solution stand for five minutes
Before transferring the solution to the spray tank, remove it until all lumps have disappeared
Use the solution immediately
Application
Use a shower, an irrigation system or a backpack or motorized sprayer.
To avoid obstructions, you must remove all filters
Use a maximum pressure of 12 bar on the spray bar or spray gun
The opening of the spray nozzle must have a mesh of at least 0.5 mm (500 microns)
So that the nematodes do not settle to the bottom of the tank, you must mix constantly
Conditions of optimal management of Capsanem
The moisture content of the soil must be high.
Soil temperature between 14 and 33 ºC.
Nematodes are susceptible to ultraviolet (UV) light: therefore, they should not be exposed to direct sunlight
To minimize the influence of ultraviolet light and maximize the availability of moisture for nematodes, we recommend foliar applications only late in the afternoon
Driving
Because biological beneficial organisms have a very short life cycle, they should be introduced into the crop as soon as possible after reception. Otherwise, its quality could be impaired. If you must store the product, please follow the instructions below. Koppert B.V. is not responsible for the loss of quality if the product is stored for longer or under other conditions than those recommended.
