objective

Red spider of the greenhouses (Tetranychus urticae). All stages, with preference for the youngest. The predatory mite can only survive at the expense of red spiders (Tetranychus spp.).

Introduction

Invert and gently shake the bottle before using

Spray the material on the leaves or pour it into application boxes (DIBOX)

Environmental conditions

The relative humidity must be above 75%, and the temperature must be above 20 ° C some hours a day. Phytoseiulus persimilis does not enter into diapause.

Storage and packaging

Because biological control products have a (very) short life cycle, they should be introduced into the crop as soon as possible after reception. Storage may affect the quality and should only take place under the conditions indicated below. Koppert B.V. is not responsible for the loss of quality resulting from longer storage of the product and / or under inadequate conditions.

Storage after reception: 1-2 days

Storage temperature: 8-10 ° C

In the dark (horizontal bottle)

Morphology

Adults: bright red, very active, spherical, well separated from the ground thanks to the legs

Eggs: oblong, pink and transparent first, darker after, double-sized than those of the red spider

Larvae / nymphs: pale red to light

Action mode

Adult predatory mites and nymphs actively search for prey and suck it dry.

Visual effect

Adult red spiders that have been eaten turn brown to black (in tomato) and can be identified as small black spots on the leaves. This should not be confused with live red spiders, light brown to dark red.
