When should Mycotal be used?
Mycotal is used for the biological control of whitefly larvae with secondary effects on thrips larvae (when humidity is higher and in combination with a compatible adjuvant such as Adpro Addit or Adpro Squad).
Mycotal should be used in the early stages of crop growth and when the presence of the pest is low. For effective control, you must make 4 applications per white fly outbreak, with intervals of 7-10 days.
Check the label to see in which countries the use of Mycotal has been registered.
How does Mycotal work?
The effectiveness of Mycotal depends on direct contact and, under the right climatic conditions, it kills the larvae after 7-10 days. Applications should focus on larvae and pupae.
After application, the spores germinate and grow, producing hyphae that penetrate the body cavities, where they proliferate and destroy the tissues. Next, the fungus grows through the cuticle of the insect and produces spores on the outside of the body, spreading the infection to other larvae.
Preparation of the solution:
Mix the necessary amount of Mycotal with water (15-20 ° C) and stir the solution in a bucket. Use 3-4 liters of water per 500 grams of Mycotal.
Fill the spray tank with the necessary amount of water.
Pour the solution into the tank and stir well.
Add the correct amount of Adpro Addit or Adpro Squad to the Mycotal solution and mix well again.
Apply the solution immediately after its preparation.
To treat new larvae, as they emerge, and break the life cycle of the pest, you may have to repeat the application (up to 4 times), in the specified interval.
It uses 500 liters of solution per hectare and per meter of height of the foliage. Do not stop stirring the solution.
Optimal usage conditions for Mycotal
The optimal performance of Mycotal depends on an optimal temperature, the relative humidity conditions under the crop cover and the time of application. The following minimum conditions must be met:
Mycotal needs a temperature of 18-30 ° C and (if applied together with Adpro Addit, Adpro Squad or another compatible adjuvant) an average relative humidity of 70% for several days after application.
Spray late in the afternoon, directing the application to the underside of the leaves and growth points.
The meticulous coverage of the leaves (underside) is essential to optimally control the whitefly. Uses a large volume spray equipment
Avoid incompatible fungicide treatments
