Les feromones són substàncies que s'alliberen al medi i actuen modificant el comportament de l'insecte. Hi ha diversos tipus: d'atracció sexual, d'agregació, traçadores, d'alarma, dissuasòries i inductores de canvis fisiològics a la mateixa espècie: diferenciació de castes.

Les que es comercialitzen són normalment feromones d'atracció sexual, les quals només atreuen un congènere de la espècie, mascle o femella. Les feromones d'agregació els atreu a llocs favorables per a refugiar-s'hi, per a l'atac a un hoste i a zones d'abundància d'aliment, etc.

Freeze lures and store in the bag they were shipped. Use the lures within 8 months of purchase. If you only remove a few lures from the bag, ensure the rest of the lures are returned to the freezer and the package they are in is closed tightly. Pheromone lures are very sensitive tool. They can be affected by exposure to elevated heat and direct sunshine. Direct touching by hand may cause cross contamination leading to mixed catches in the trap.
